Into the Woods - A Unique Commission

Casey & Scott asked if I could write a ketubah text on wood. Little did I know that they would bring me the most beautiful piece of driftwood they found on a favorite beach and that Scott meticulously sanded, polished, and prepared to receive the calligraphy ink.

This is definitely the largest ketubah I’ve ever worked on—the wood is almost as tall as I am. After having this piece in my studio and literally having my arms wrapped around it while doing the calligraphy, it was not only so satisfying to see these images of the ketubah at their wedding, but also look at how gorgeous their wedding was….absolutely stunning!

Casey and her mom run a wedding-planning business, so I wouldn’t have expected anything less! The wedding was published here.

Enjoy the photos, taken by Brian Dorsey, and thank you again, Casey and Scott!

“The ketubah was a HIGHLIGHT of the wedding, everyone was dying over it.” ~ Casey
